A New Year, A New Start, in the emergency room.

Since my last post life has been crazy. We visited Brian Head for UEA and Kaitlyn crashed on the four wheeler. We got to drive to Cedar City so that we could pay a visit to the friendly emergency room personnel. The best part about it was that Kaitlyn stayed home for a week. I got sick mid November, and I'm finally starting to feel better. Unfortunately my house suffered greatly and I am still attempting to catch up. Thanksgiving and Christmas were nice but I am truly glad that they are over. Which brings us to the blog title, on New Years day Kristopher invented a new sport, Sledboarding (Kids don't try this at home). I left my four oldest to spend a few days playing in Brian Head. So my wonderful Mother called me to tell me that Kristopher had a broken arm. She said that it looked like Harry Potter's arm when all the bones were removed. GREAT! Laura put a splint on his arm. (THANK YOU LAURA!!!!) and he had a very bumpy snowmobile ride to the car. Another trip to the Cedar City ER. When I talked to them, they said " weren't you just here all of your insurance information is on file?" They knocked him out and tried to set both bones back into place, put him in a big cast and sent him back to the cabin. Krystal drove everybody home from the cabin two days later. After a visit to the doctor and an x-ray through his cast it was obvious even to me that one of the bones was not straight. So surgery, a metal plate, and five screws later, the bone is straight! We are off to a great start!

This is the x-ray the doctor brought out to show us after the surgery was complete.

Oh, that makes me hurt! I wish I would have thought to take a picture of the broken arm before Laura splinted it, it was quite amazing.
I have also searched the archives for a picture of Kristopher sledboarding and none have been found. Ah, What a shame. I was going to do a little post of Kristopher on his sled and then an equal sign and the picture on my blog of him with his arm in a cast.
I am so glad that you are feeling better!!! And I hope the rest of the year goes off without a hitch or any more broken bones!!!!

I was actually surprised that he got away with just a cast originally. I hope you and him will continue to feel better and that the new year will be much safer and healthier than the last! Love you guys =)

I was just reading all your posts and I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy them all. Love the pictures. I grew up watching the beautiful changes of Mt. Timp. You have a great view. Thanks for sharing. Write some more this year and I will read them more often.
Love Forever, Mom
