Same old thing, different day

It has been one year and oh what a year it has been. I was able to enjoy the first 4 or 5 months at home working for my brother trying to finish up plans for an ice cream shoppe and a large vet's office. It is work that I truly love so of course it came to and end as the economy continued to fail. I was able to find a job that I like, especially because of the people I get to work with. I never had any desire to work full time outside of my home. I still feel like a failure every morning as I leave for work and I really have a hard time when I realize that my children have been home by themselves for 3 hours by the time I manage to get home. I wonder if Kincade will ever remember that I stayed home with him. Because of Brian's work schedule he has a day off during the week. He gets to stay home and enjoy the quiet house that I looked forward to for 18 years, I'm trying really hard not to be angry about that. I wonder about the whole plan of life these days and it certainly doesn't make any sense to me. My house has fallen into disaster, the kids seem to fighting every time I walk in the door. Why it the world was I sent all of these children if I won't be able to be with them when they need me? It has become the question haunting my mind. I am thankful for the time I have had to be with them but some days it feels like my usefulness as a mother has expired.

A New Year, A New Start, in the emergency room.

Since my last post life has been crazy. We visited Brian Head for UEA and Kaitlyn crashed on the four wheeler. We got to drive to Cedar City so that we could pay a visit to the friendly emergency room personnel. The best part about it was that Kaitlyn stayed home for a week. I got sick mid November, and I'm finally starting to feel better. Unfortunately my house suffered greatly and I am still attempting to catch up. Thanksgiving and Christmas were nice but I am truly glad that they are over. Which brings us to the blog title, on New Years day Kristopher invented a new sport, Sledboarding (Kids don't try this at home). I left my four oldest to spend a few days playing in Brian Head. So my wonderful Mother called me to tell me that Kristopher had a broken arm. She said that it looked like Harry Potter's arm when all the bones were removed. GREAT! Laura put a splint on his arm. (THANK YOU LAURA!!!!) and he had a very bumpy snowmobile ride to the car. Another trip to the Cedar City ER. When I talked to them, they said " weren't you just here all of your insurance information is on file?" They knocked him out and tried to set both bones back into place, put him in a big cast and sent him back to the cabin. Krystal drove everybody home from the cabin two days later. After a visit to the doctor and an x-ray through his cast it was obvious even to me that one of the bones was not straight. So surgery, a metal plate, and five screws later, the bone is straight! We are off to a great start!

This is the x-ray the doctor brought out to show us after the surgery was complete.

Fall Weekend

The weather really turned chilly this weekend. We participated in that favorite of all fall activities... a football game. The last of Kaleb's games this season. It has been really fun to see the cousins playing together on the same team, it has guaranteed a family visit every Saturday morning.

Colton, McNeil, Kaleb

Brandon was an awesome coach, This was a fun experience for us all.

To finish the weekend this morning we woke up to find snow had fallen in the valley for the first time this year! :)

Snow on the Mountains

After 36 hours of rain, the clouds finally lifted and there was snow on the mountains! And just for Kaitlyn here is a picture.

Saturday morning we attended Kaleb's football game in the rain. I wore my first sweater of the season, it's really starting to feel like fall. Last week I spent three days chopping onions and peppers for salsa. Becki, Heather and I, made about 140 pints.

Here are a few jars of it because I know you were just dying to see bottles of salsa!

Sunday after Conference we went to Marva's for dinner, Overall it was a very nice weekend and it was fun to see everyone and play games with them.

All the children eating dinner. Well most of them were eating some where goofing off.

House of sick

It seems that the fall flu bug is visiting my house this month. It started with Kincade then moved on to Kimberly. It has progressed through the ranks and now I think I have it. It is miserable I loathe throwing up and trow up in general so this month has not been a good month for me. I do have some good news to report though Kaitlyn is getting a ride down to Orem this weekend. Kimberly was excited to hear that she is coming back but got upset when she heard that she was not staying. Oh and I got a new Den leader but she works during the time I have scouts so what good is that I ask you? Hopefully we can figure out a way to work around her schedule. Until then I will be doing it alone. This post by the way was composed by Krystal while I dictated the dialogue. Well lots of love to everyone. I'll try to update more often.

Early Saturday Morning

I'm currently at Marva's house waiting for the time to pass to go back to Kaleb, McNeil, and Colton's football game. Football at 7:00 am on a Saturday morning, who's idea of a sick joke is this? In all honesty it is not so bad, we get an early start in hopes of accomplishing great things later on in the day. We have been in such a huge mess at the house, we still haven't settled into
our school routine. I wonder if we ever will? Maybe I will have great things to report later on in the day. I will keep you posted. Kaitlyn I love you and hope you didn't fall off your chair when you saw that I finally posted.
